Nottingham Forest captain Michael Dawson helped his side come back from one-goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic last night leaving many fans of the club singing his praises.

The Reds struggled in the first half and went behind to a Lyle Taylor header after 18 minutes.

Had it not been for some great saves from Aro Muric and an outstanding block from Dawson, Sabri Lamouchi’s side may have been out of the game at half time.

Forest improved in the second half and substitute Albert Adomah smashed in an equaliser in the 78th minute to ensure his side got a share of the points.

The result leaves Charlton unbeaten and fifth in the Championship, while the Reds sit 13th with five points from four games.

Lamouchi added 12 new signings in the summer but one of the things that may have pleased him most this season is the solid start Dawson and Joe Worrall have made at centre-back.

The 35-year-old rejoined the club last summer after a 13-year absence and had a frustrating first season due to injury, appearing just 13 times.

However, the Forest academy graduate has made a strong start to the season and has certainly received plaudits from some of the City Ground faithful.
