Despite Sheffield United finishing above Sheffield Wednesday in the league, the Owls fans voted that Sharp was not good enough to make their starting side.

With 87% voting no, it was a comprehensive indicator of their confidence in their current strikers, such as Atdhe Nuhiu, Lucas Joao, Jordan Rhodes, Gary Hooper, Fernando Forestieri and Steven Fletcher.

Sharp's tally of 14 goals, level with Nuhiu's tally, and more than Hooper (11), Joao (nine) and Forestieri (five), who have all played less game time than the Sheffield United forward.
