It has been a season to forget for Jaap Stam's Reading.

Having reached the play-off final last year after an exceptional season, the Royals were expected to compete in the higher echelons of the Sky Bet Championship once again.

However it has been a disastrous campaign, and the Royals are currently in the midst of a relegation battle as they occupy 18th spot in the league table, sitting just four points away from the dreaded drop zone.

The pressure is really on manager Jaap Stam to turn things around at the Madejski Stadium, with the side only winning once in their last 11 league fixtures.

It's fair to say the Dutchman is on the brink at the Berkshire outfit, and a handful more defeats would surely spell the end of Stam's time in charge at the Royals.

We at FLW put it to the Reading fans on Twitter to gage their opinion on Jaap Stam, and we asked them whether Ron Gourlay should wield the axe on manager Jaap Stam.

It was a pretty clear verdict from the Reading faithful, with the majority thinking it is time to give Jaap Stam the chop at the Madejski.

Meanwhile, 37% still think the Dutchman should remain in the job.

Reading face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in their next league fixture, in what is a massive match for the club.
