There has been very little to be positive about around Elland Road recently, with Leeds United struggling in the Sky Bet Championship.

Results under Paul Heckingbottom have hardly been inspiring, with Leeds drifting towards a mid-table finish.

However, one thing that has lifted the mood around Elland Road recently has been the emergence of some exciting youngsters from the club’s academy.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been in inspired form in goal, whilst Tom Pearce is impressing at left-back. Another player to impress in Leeds’ defensive unit has been Paudie O’Connor, who has started the last four Championship fixtures.

O’Connor has looked assured at the heart of defence, and despite his own goal against Barnsley last time out, Leeds’ supporters have been impressed with his physical approach and calmness in possession.

With next season already the focus at Elland Road, we asked Leeds’ supporters if they believed O’Connor could be starter next season in our latest FLW Poll.

Just 31% of voters in our poll believe that the 20-year-old centre-back can be a regular starter next season, with 69% voting against O’Connor featuring in the starting XI.

Leeds fans… Is next season too early for O’Connor to feature regularly in the starting line-up? Let us know your thoughts!
