Lewie Coyle will be amongst a pool of players returning to Leeds United this summer, having spent the 2017/18 campaign out on-loan away from Elland Road.

The full-back spent the year in Sky Bet League One with Fleetwood Town, impressing under both Uwe Rosler and John Sheridan.

Fleetwood struggled to a 14th place finish in League One, but Coyle really stood out at the Highbury Stadium.

The 22-year-old featured on 48 occasions across all competitions for Fleetwood, receiving a glowing reference from Sheridan before the end of the season.

Coyle has made just 23 appearances for Leeds during his senior career, and when he returns to Elland Road, will find himself competing with Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi for a place at right-back in Paul Heckingbottom’s squad.

Ayling is key for Leeds, whilst Berardi has plenty of experience in the English second-tier.

Here at FLW, we wanted to know if Leeds’ supporters think Coyle deserves a chance next season.

Unsurprisingly, 84% of voters in our poll want to see Heckingbottom hand Coyle an opportunity next season, after an impressive year with Fleetwood.
