Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick is facing an uncertain future, regardless of which division his parent club will be playing next season.

The Villains face Fulham in the play-off final tomorrow for a place in the Premier League but Elphick is in the dark over his future whether they go up or stay down.

The 30-year-old has endured a difficult spell at Aston Villa.

After joining the Villains following their relegation in summer 2016, the former Brighton and Bournemouth centre-back has struggled to find his form in the West Midlands and has found game time hard to come by since getting dropped in the 2016/17 season.

With John Terry, James Chester, Mile Jedinak and Christopher Samba favoured to him this year, Elphick's future is in major doubt.

We asked Aston Villa fans whether Elphick has a future at the club and here are the results of the poll:

The fans have spoken and 86% of them do not believe Elphick has a future at Villa Park.

The overwhelming majority cannot see the centre-half staying at the club and a move to another Championship club is probably his most likely destination.

Whether Reading want to make his loan move permanent remains to be seen, but even if Aston Villa stay in the Championship, he is likely to be sold if potential suitors can be found.
