Ipswich Town completed the late signing of Jonathan Walters before the loan deadline passed last week.

The striker joins on loan from Burnley until January and moves back to Portman Road, a club he left eight years ago after three years.

Paul Hurst’s summer signings have been made up of the better players from sides in League One and League Two, but he has changed tack slightly in acquiring the services of the 34-year-old.

Walter's arrival adds much-needed Championship experience to the ranks at Portman Road, and he was able to make an instant impact.

The loanee made his debut in the one-all draw in the East Anglian derby against Norwich City last Sunday, setting-up Gwion Edwards in the 57th minute to give the home side the lead.

After the return of a former fans’ favourite, we here at FLW, asked Ipswich Town supporters if they were happy with the signing of Walters on loan from Burnley?

Unsurprisingly, the result was resounding in agreement - 68 per cent of Town fans are indeed happy with the return of their former forward until the new year.

Despite a majority verdict, there was still 32 per cent that are unhappy with the signing of Walters, and feel it is a backwards step after a youthful recruitment drive during the summer.

It is a sentimental return for the forward, but he has a vital part to play in Hurt's side this season in holding up play and getting his side up the pitch and be able to share his experiences with his young side.
