According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Andrea Radrizzani is expected to take full control of Leeds United, by buying the remaining 50% of the club from controversial Italian, Massimo Cellino, in the coming month.

Radrizzani took on a 50% investment at Elland Road earlier in 2017, and the 42-year old will now push a 100% deal through in the coming month, ending Cellino’s three-year stay in West Yorkshire.

Leeds’ supporters have been divided on Cellino’s ownership of the club, with the eccentric Italian racing through seven different head-coaches since 2014 and off field issues overshadowing the football.

It is believed that Radrizzani’s decision to acquire the remaining 50% of the club is due to Leeds’ failure to reach the Sky Bet Championship’s Play-Offs, which was all but confirmed by Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Norwich City.

Garry Monk’s side had looked set for a top-six finish for much of 2017, but four defeats from seven fixtures in April, where the club picked up just five-points, has ultimately cost them a chance of returning to the Premier League.

Leeds are three-points behind sixth-placed Fulham, but with one game of the season remaining, Monk’s side would require the Cottagers to suffer defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and a 13-goal swing in their favour.

Monk’s side head to the DW Stadium next weekend, where they will face already relegated Wigan Athletic in the final game of the regular season.
