Leeds United's move for Jean-Kevin Augustin is reportedly on the cusp of completion, according to Football Insider.

The Whites are desperate to sign a new striker after Arsenal decided to recall Eddie Nketiah at the start of the month.

That has left Patrick Bamford has the only fit senior striker in Marcelo Bielsa's squad - something which has forced the Yorkshire side into action.

Reports had linked Marcelo Bielsa's side with moves for the likes of Dwight Gayle, Andre Gray, Jarrod Bowen and Che Adams, however it seems that Augustin could be the man to fill the void.

The 22-year-old is registered with RB Leipzig but has spent the season so far on loan with Monaco.

However Football Insider has claimed that an agent close to the deal has said that a potential move to Elland Road is 'done'.

Augustin has struggled for gametime with the French side so far this term after starting just two league matches.

The verdict

Leeds United's supporters will be thrilled to get this potential deal over the line.

The Whites have struggled for form in recent weeks and that's been in part down to the lack of striking options at Marcelo Bielsa's disposal.

If Augustin does arrive then it'll be a massive boost for Leeds' promotion push.

He'll take time to settle into the club, but if he can make an impact off the bench in the short-term then everyone will be delighted.
