With Leeds United very much in the market for a new striker, it does make you wonder how much of a role Tyler Roberts will have to play next season.

The 19-year-old made the move to Elland Road in January, but is yet to feature for the Lilywhites.

Roberts, who is an academy graduate from West Bromich Albion, has enjoyed loan spells at Oxford, Shrewsbury and Walsall, giving him valuable first team experience, and will be hoping to continue that into this coming season.

With Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa looking to bring in a host of new talent, will the young forward find himself playing second fiddle?

We discuss whether we believe Tyler Roberts will make an impact in the Leeds United side next season, and whether he will feature at all.

Jay Williams

As things stand, Leeds might well need him. They have failed to bring in a striker this summer yet to ease their worries up top.

Roberts does not seem ready to make a major impact at the top but you never know what could happen if he is handed more first-team responsibility.

Gary Hutchinson

Not a significant impact, no. he does have a role to play and it could be a breakthrough season, but I suspect he'll be better seeking time out on loan.

Leeds look set to bring players in, especially strikers and that leaves Roberts down the pecking order.

Jay Taylor

After signing from West Brom for a big fee, the 19-year-old is yet to make his debut for Leeds after injury but expect him to be given a chance next season.

The money spent indicated Leeds are high on the player and that should translate in Marco Bielsa’s interpretation of the forward player.

He’s been there since January but he is effectively still a new signing.
