Last weekend saw goals from Ben Purrington and Lyle Taylor see off Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park as Charlton Athletic made a happy return to the second-tier.

And on Thursday the Addicks strengthened their side further, securing a last-gasp deal to bring Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Beram Kayal to The Valley on a season-long loan, becoming the club's 11th and final deal of the window.

Kayal made the move to Brighton from Celtic back in the January transfer window of 2015 on a free transfer, going on to make 131 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring five goals and assisting ten more as well as helping them win promotion to the top-flight in the process.

However, since their promotion the Israeli has found first-team opportunities slightly harder to come by, playing just 37 times across two campaigns including just 18 during the previous season.

But regardless, it was a signing that still very welcome at the Valley...
