Tranmere Rovers have announced new deals for two more players as their preparations for their League One return takes shape.

They dropped out of the division in 2014 and, just a year later, were out of the Football League as well. Just as they were relegated in successive seasons, they have been promoted in the same timeframe and now look forward to competing in the third-tier once more.

Last week they tied up the future of defender Manny Monthe, a man mountain of a centre half with awareness and pace. This week it is the turn of Liam Ridealgh and Evan Gumbs, who both pen new deals with the club.

Ridehalgh is a 28-year-old defender who has been with the club since 2014. He's racked up 148 starts for the Prenton Park outfit and has been with them through their decline and redemption.

Gumbs, who appeared in the social media post on crutches, is a homegrown youngster with experience from loan spells with Salford, Bradford Park Avenue and Burscough. He's only made three starts for the club and played once in League Two last season, as they drew 0-0 away at Lincoln City.

Supporters have taken to Twitter this morning to express their opinions on the double announcement, as you're able to read below.
