The Blades extended their lead at the top of Sky Bet League One with a satisfying 2-0 home victory over play-off hopefuls Millwall in their midweek encounter.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder had made three changes to the side that drew with Oldham Athletic at this weekend for the visit of the Lions.

Jack O'Connell was able to put the hosts ahead inside the opening 15 minutes when his close-range header had beaten Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer, who was later taken off due to injury.

Shortly after the interval, defender Kieron Freeman hit the net with a shot inside the box, which was assisted by Mark Duffy.

The referee blew the final whistle in what was a very tightly-contested encounter between the two teams, with the visitors having an upper hand on the possession and slightly more efforts at goal.

United now lie seven points ahead of second-placed Bolton Wanderers, but they do have a game in-hand over the Blades. Here is how the supporters reacted on Twitter following the win....
