Arsenal lifted the FA Cup for the 14th time in their history yesterday, beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley.
It was two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that sealed the trophy, overcoming ten-man Chelsea to leave Frank Lampard in a sombre mood.
They did so as well with Emiliano Martinez in goal. The Argentine has been thrust into the starting line-up with Bernd Leno sidelined and after ten years at the club, fans are starting to realise how good a keeper he is.
Can you name these 40 EFL mascots? Have a go now!
But Reading fans already knew. They saw Martinez join the club on-loan for the second-half of the 2018/19 season and grew to love the 27-year-old.
It was an emotional win for Martinez yesterday. He’s spent so long as Arsenal’s understudy, had so many loan spells and only now if he reaping the rewards.
Reading fans took to Twitter to congratulate Martinez yesterday, and here’s what they had to say:
Emiliano Martinez born in Argentina, raised in reading. #readingfc
