Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has emerged as a candidate for the vacant Malaga job, according to Football Insider.

The La Liga 2 side are reportedly lining-up the 39-year-old as their new manager, after sacking Victor Sanchez over the weekend in controversial circumstances.

Robinson has asserted Oxford as promotion contenders this season, sitting 5th in the League One table with five points separating them from the automatic promotion places.

He's been at Oxford since March 2018, having managed at MK Dons and Charlton Athletic before - he oversaw almost 350 games in charge of the Dons before being relieved of his duties, and departed Charlton by mutual consent after 74 games at the helm.

They hosted the league leaders Rotherham at the weekend but lost 3-1 - their second-straight defeat in the league after winning three on the bounce.
