Macauley Bonne shares update ahead of Charlton’s clash with Preston

Charlton Athletic striker Macauley Bonne has declared he is itching for his side’s clash with second-placed Preston on Sunday as he looks to extend his impressive goalscoring run.
Bonne has settled into life in the Charlton starting line-up nicely in recent weeks, with the 24-year-old having now netted five goals in his last six games during Lyle Taylor’s absence from the side.
Taylor has been unavailable since suffering a leg injury while on international duty back in early September, but Bonne has stepped up to the mark in order to fill the goalscoring void in attack for the Addicks.
Charlton are currently sitting ninth in the Championship table following a solid start to the season, while their last match saw them secure a late 2-2 draw with league leaders West Brom at The Hawthorns, and Bonne was once again on target for his side.
The former Leyton Orient man has now taken to Twitter to tell his followers that he is itching for the Preston match to come around, while he also praised the support of Charlton fans.

Should Macauley Bonne keep his place in the Charlton side when Lyle Taylor returns?
Yes

No

The Verdict
Bonne has definitely exceeded expectations since his introduction into the Charlton side, as few people would have expected him to have found the net with such regularity after making the leap from the fifth tier last term.
He is clearly relishing his current run in the side as he leads the Addicks’ line in Taylor’s absence, and this is why he will be eager for Sunday to come around so he can attempt to add to his goalscoring run.
Bonne has adapted so well to life in Lee Bowyer’s side that he will surely be pressing for a starting place alongside Taylor when the latter returns from his injury lay-off.
