Austin revealed on his official Twitter account yesterday that he will move on to pastures new following the culmination of the 2021/22 campaign.
After re-joining the R’s on a permanent deal last year, Austin would have been hoping to spearhead a push for promotion by scoring regularly in the Championship.
However, the forward has only managed to show glimpses of his ability at this level for QPR as he has struggled with his consistency.
With the R’s set to take on Swansea City tomorrow, it will be interesting to see whether Austin is selected to feature in this fixture by manager Mark Warburton.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Dykes has taken to Instagram to share a message with Austin after learning the news that the forward is set to leave QPR.

Austin has been a great servant to QPR during his career as he has produced memorable moments in both of his permanent spells at the club.
With Austin set to depart, it will be interesting to see whether QPR are able to secure the services of a forward who will be able to compliment Dykes’ style of play this summer.
Despite the fact that his game-time has been limited due to injury, Dykes has still provided a respectable total of 11 direct goal contributions in the Championship this season and will be determined to help his side reach new heights at this level during the 2022/23 campaign.
