QPR got back to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday, as they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners over relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday.

A brace from Lyndon Dykes, whilst goals from Stefan Johansen and Chris Willock saw Mark Warburton's side pick up three points at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Dykes' performance caught the eye on the day, with the QPR forward netting two goals, as he took his tally to 11 for the season, in what is his first year in English football.

He had previously struggled for goals, but has hit a strong run of form after finding his confidence in front of goal in the second-half of this year's campaign.

The win for the Hoops means that they're now sat 11th in the Championship table, and they'll be hoping they can build on this impressive showing against the Owls.

Dykes took to Instagram following the win, and was clearly pleased with his team's effort against Sheffield Wednesday, as they picked up their 15th league win of the 2020/21 season.

Dykes and his QPR team-mates are set to return to action on Tuesday evening, as they take on struggling Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.

The Verdict:

It's good to see him playing full of confidence.

I thought that Dykes would have been a good addition to the QPR team in the summer, and it did come as a surprise to see him struggling for goals in the Championship.

But he seems to be making up for lost time since the turn of the New Year, and if he can build on these impressive performances, then he's likely to be one of the first names on Mark Warburton's team-sheet.

QPR are certainly heading in the right direction, and you couldn't blame the club's supporters for wanting to target a top-six finish in next year's league campaign after some strong performances of late.
