After a torrid run of results, Queens Park Rangers finally got back to winning ways last night against another out of sorts team in Birmingham City.
Mark Warburton’s side had endured tough times since the return of club football following the international break, drawing once against Reading but then losing their next three matches which was disappointing after a good first month of the campaign.
Warburton shuffled the pack though and it worked as the R’s defeated Lee Bowyer’s side 2-0 at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, with one player standing out in particular.
Quiz: Have QPR ever been involved in these 18 scenarios?
Having not scored in his previous five matches, Ilias Chair got back on the scoresheet with a brace against the Blues, his first effort being deflected past Matija Sarkic before racing through one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the second half to despatch his second.
Following the win and his goalscoring exploits, Chair posted an Instagram message to Hoops fans.

That was responded to by a host of R’s players, including the likes of Yoann Barbet, Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes who all showed their appreciation for QPR’s number 10.
If QPR are going to make the play-offs this season, then Ilias Chair is going to have to put in more performances like this.
He had big shoes to fill last season following the departure of Ebere Eze, but he’s making a name for himself in west London and he’s only going to get better.
The Belgian can sometimes drift in and out of games but he’s got a goalscoring touch as shown last night and if he can find that on a consistent basis, then the R’s should be just fine.
Chair is a crucial piece of the furniture at QPR and his efforts are clearly appreciated by his team-mates, and they’ll be looking to make it two wins in a row when Preston North End visit on Saturday.
