Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor has drawn similarities between his relationship with the club's former striker Karlan Grant and new Addicks signing Andre Green.

Taylor and Green were both on target during Charlton's much-needed 2-1 victory over fellow relegation strugglers Barnsley on Saturday, with Taylor opening the scoring early on before Green netted his second goal for the club on the stroke of half-time.

The Aston Villa loanee has made an impressive start to life at The Valley by striking twice during his first four appearances for the club, and it now appears as though he is developing a fruitful relationship with fellow attacker Taylor.

Taylor has

The partnership of Taylor and Grant had netted a combined total of 29 goals in the first half of last season before Grant's departure, and Charlton fans can only hope that Taylor's pairing with Green can yield a similar tally.

The Verdict

Green has certainly made a positive start to life at The Valley after netting two goals in his first handful of appearances for the club, and all the signs suggest he could be an important player for the remainder of the season at the Addicks.

Charlton produced a fine piece of business in sealing the attacker's services following his loan stint at Preston in the first half of the season, and there is no reason why Taylor and Green cannot go from strength to strength in the club's attacking unit.

I would only expect Taylor to improve his game as he looks to improve his fitness level over the coming weeks, and I can see the duo being key to Charlton's survival bid throughout the remainder of the campaign.
