Lyle Taylor will be looking to get on the scoresheet and help Nottingham Forest pick up only their second win of the season against Coventry City tonight.

Taylor was one of 14 new players to arrive at the City Ground over the course of the summer, with the former Charlton Athletic striker undoubtedly a marquee signing for the Reds.

Here, we take a look at Taylor's time on Trentside so far, in today's hat-trick...

How's it gone so far?

It took a little bit of time for Taylor to break into the team and get a regular run of games under his belt for the Reds.

Lewis Grabban started six of Forest's first seven league games, with Taylor making only one start in his first six appearances for the Reds in a 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town in September.

But Taylor marked his second league start of the season with an equalising goal against Derby County last month - a game which saw Grabban be taken off at half-time due to a hip problem.

All in all, Taylor has scored one goal in nine league appearances thus far, but has made only three starts in the Championship.

What issues does he face?

Taylor is Forest's first-choice striker at this moment in time due to the injury to Grabban, and the 30-year-old has a real chance to stake a claim for a regular place in the side due to Grabban's injury.

Grabban is out injured until after the international break, so tonight's clash with Coventry and this weekend's clash with Wycombe should present Taylor with two opportunities to make a positive impression.

Miguel Angel Guerrero is knocking on the door for a place in the side, though, with the Spaniard making his full debut for the club in the defeat to Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Despite Grabban's absence, there is still competition for Taylor.

What's next?

Taylor will hope that he can find the net this week and find some form heading into the international break.

There's no getting away from the fact that it has been a disappointing start to the season for the Reds, but Taylor will be hoping that his goals can help the Reds climb up the table and towards promotion.

A couple of goals this week could see him become Forest's main man up top for good.
