A win in Accrington's game in hand could close the gap to one point with first place Luton Town.

Accrington are 12 games away from making history because they currently sit in second spot and getting promoted to League One would be their first promotion in the Football League since the club was formed in 1968 after the original side folded two years previously.

They have a four point gap on Notts County in fourth place as well as a game in hand against Newport County, so they have a significant cushion should they drop some points in the remaining games.

The extreme weather conditions caused their last game against Newport to be postponed, but Luton's game against Cambridge went ahead. However, the Hatters were unable to take advantage because they drew 1-1 which gives Accrington the chance to make up some ground on them.

They play Luton on the 10th March, so they won't have chance to make up them points prior to that, but a win in that game would put them in pole position for first place, assuming they beat Morecambe at home which they should.

Stanley have a tough end to the season, though, because they have matches against all the teams in the top seven left to play. Four of those are away from home as well, so their impressive home form will have little bearing. Although, they do have three easy home games against Yeovil, Forest Green and Morecambe which they can use to apply pressure on the teams around them.
