Luton Town will be looking to keep building in the seasons to come with them looking well on course to remain in the Championship this year.

Nathan Jones has done a fine job since returning to the club and the dramatic nature of last season's fight to avoid the drop has not been repeated - which Hatters fans will obviously be pleased about.

The plan now, though, has to be to keep building and that will involve signings being made and also young players being brought through into the senior side.

With that latter point in mind, then, we're taking a look at the youngest 10 Luton scorers according to transfermarkt.

See if you can remember all ten playing for the Hatters...

Garry Parker is 10th on this list for the goal he scored in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the old First Division back in 1984.

Parker was 19 years, 1 month and 27 days old at the time of getting the goal against the Magpies, to help them earn a point in the top tier of English football.

He also played for the like of Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Leicester City in a fine career before retiring from the game in 2001.

He's spent time as a coach in the years since, working with Neil Lennon at times, and is now a performance analyst and Oxford United where he has been since 2019.

Arthur Read was on the books at Luton as a kid and then as a senior player for three years between 2016 and 2019.

The goal he scored came in an EFL Trophy game which the Hatters ultimately lost on penalties to Southend United in the December of the 2018/19 season.

He was 19 years, 1 month and 2 days old at the time but would never make a league appearance for the Hatters.

Brentford liked what they had seen of him, though, and signed him whilst he is currently on loan at Stevenage having joined in 2020.

The 2013/14 season saw Cameron McGeehan score the winner for Luton Town in a game against Aldershot Town in the Conference, with the Hatters winning 1-0.

He was 18 years, 11 months and 30 days old at the time so it was the perfect early present for him to get his first Luton goal, as the winner, ahead of his 19th birthday.

The midfielder has since featured in the EFL for the likes of Portsmouth and Barnsley whilst he is now currently playing for Belgian side Oostende having joined them in 2020.

As a kid, he was also on the books of the likes of Chelsea and Fulham.

Midfielder Matt Robinson is 7th on our list for a goal he scored back in the days when Luton were in the Conference.

The 2012/13 season saw Robinson get his goal away at Southport FC in the fifth tier of English football with Luton earning a 3-1 win in the process.

Robinson was 18 years, 10 months and 19 days old when he hit the back of the net for the Hatters against the men from the northwest.

The midfielder is now at Dagenham and Redbridge where he has been since 2016 and has made over 130 league appearances for them.

Kevin Foley scored for Luton back in the 2003/04 season in the September with it helping the Hatters to a 2-0 win over Port Vale in the old Second Division.

Foley had a fine career with him featuring in the Premier League for the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers but it was at Luton Town where he got his big break.

He was 18 years, 10 months and 15 days old when he scored his goal in the 2-0 win over Vale and that means he is 6th on our list here.

Having made over 150 appearances for Luton, he was a real success story for them and is now an assistant coach with Tampa Bay Rowdies over in the United States.

Frankie Musonda is fifth on our list for Luton's youngest ever goalscorers.

He was 18 years, 8 months and 18 days old when he scored his goal for the Hatters in an EFL Trophy game against Gillingham.

The match finished 2-1 to the Hatters so it was obviously an important strike that Musonda got with the goal coming at the beginning of the 16/17 season.

He spent time on loan at Braintree and Oxford City during his time at Luton whilst he is now playing football up in Scotland for Championship side Raith Rovers.

He signed for them in 2020.

Kavan Cotter is fourth on the list for the goal he scored in the EFL Trophy back in 2017 - he was 18 years, 7 months and 2 days old when he hit the net against West Ham's u23 side in a 4-0 win in December of the 17/18 season.

He spent several spells on loan at Hitchin Town during his time at the club and is now playing in non-league football for Wealdstone.

He was also on the books at Arsenal and QPR during his time as a youth player but ultimately didn't quite make the grade.

Ryan Charles spent his youth career on the books at Luton Town and then came through in 2007 before leaving three years later in 2010.

He is third in this list with his goal coming against Oldham Athletic in League One.

He was 18 years, 6 months and 14 days old when he got the goal against the Latics, with him helping Luton on the way to a 3-0 win in this particular fixture.

Much of his career after Luton was spent in non-league football as he turned out for Rushden & Diamonds and Hemel Hempstead Town amongst others.

His last club was Chesham United in 2014.

Winger Tristan Plummer is second on our list for Luton Town.

The right-sided player scored his goal at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 13 days with a goal against Plymouth Argyle.

It came in a 2-0 win at the start of the 08/09 season in the League Cup, with the Hatters enjoying a bright start to that competition.

Plummer was actually on loan from Bristol City at the time, which will have made a goal against south-west rivals Plymouth even sweeter.

He now plays for Bitton who are a non-league club based in Gloucestershire having joined them back in 2019.

Keith Keane tops our list here.

He was 17 years, 4 months and 28 days old when he scored his goal as a teenager against Bristol City in a 3-2 win in the old Second Division back in 2003/04.

The midfielder is now 34 and currently without a club after leaving Rochdale in 2018.

A versatile player, he featured in several different positions on the pitch for Luton and also in several different divisions during his time at the Hatters.
