Luton Town enjoyed a busy transfer deadline day and they managed to bring in attacker Izzy Brown on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has a good reputation in the game having represented England at various youth levels and he also played for Huddersfield as they won promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

However, a loan to Leeds United didn't work out last season, with Brown making just two league appearances for the Whites after missing the first few months of the campaign with a serious knee injury.

He then returned to Chelsea this summer and another move seemed inevitable, with Luton confirming that had brought the versatile Brown in on their official site last night.

Capable of playing down either flank or in an attacking midfield position, the former West Brom youngster will give Graeme Jones another option in the final third.

Brown could be involved for the Hatters this weekend as they face a tough trip to Cardiff looking to build on the point they picked up at home to Middlesbrough last time out.

The Verdict

This seems like a good signing for Luton as Brown has the potential to be a star and playing in Jones' attacking approach may get the best out of him.

He will be desperate to get back playing after a tough year in Yorkshire and the player will see this move as a real opportunity to show what he can do.

The obvious concern is whether Brown can rediscover his best form after his knee injury and he also picked up a few knocks earlier this year too.

But, it's a risk worth taking on loan for Luton and this is a deal that could look very smart in a few months time.
