Luton Town defender Corey Panter is set to seal a loan move to Dundee this summer as he appears set to join up with the Scottish club for pre-season training, as per a recent report by The Courier.

The 20-year-old recently put pen to paper on a new development contract at Kenilworth Road after being on their books for many years and now looks set to take the next step in his career pathway by heading out on loan.

Panter can play in central defence or at left back when required and has been with the Hatters for the best part of 12 years.

Since moving to the Sky Bet Championship outfit, the defender has spent time out on loan with the likes of Hendon and Biggleswade Town in non league.

It now seems that he is set to join up with the Dark Blues north of the border in order to get some more first team experience under his belt at what is a crucial stage of his career.

The Verdict

This seems like a very wise move from a Luton perspective as it means that Panter will get some much needed first team exposure after signing his new deal.

Now at the age of 20, the defender really needs to start pushing on towards breaking into the first team at Kenilworth Road and this temporary spell in Scotland will certainly help his chances.

He's certainly viewed as a talented player by the club's academy staff and it may be that he just needs this extra loan spell to get him to the level required to be making appearances at Championship level.

If he performs well out on loan, there is always a possibility that he could be recalled early by Nathan Jones and co if they believe that he could be of some use to them.
