Luton Town have confirmed that young attacker Dion Pereira is joining Bradford City on loan for the remainder of this season, with a view to him picking up more senior minutes that should aid his development.
The 22-year-old joined the Hatters back in 2020 from local rivals Watford but is yet to really nail down a first-team place at Kenilworth Road, and so the decision has been made for him to head out on loan to try and build up senior minutes at a good level.
Indeed, he’s had loan spells before with a trip to Yeovil Town recorded and now he heads to Valley Parade in what represents a step up for him to League Two.
A big club, the expectations at Bradford are unlike most at fourth-tier level and so this move should provide good experience for Pereira ahead of his return to Luton at the end of this season.
Here’s what the Hatters said on Twitter:
Dion Pereira has joined Bradford City on loan until the end of the season.
Go and smash it, Dion 💪#COYH

This is a deal that should make sense for all involved.
Bradford get a player in a position that needed strengthening, the player himself gets a shot at playing more minutes that should aid his growth as a footballer and Luton get to see how he applies himself and performs at a level of football that is massively competitive.
It’s a big opportunity for Pereira and we’ll see how he progresses.
