Saturday was a day that everyone connected with Luton Town would want to forget, as they were beaten 7-0 by Brentford at the Bees' Griffin Park as they struggled to put up a fight against their superior opponents.

One player who will be disappointed more than others for the Hatters would be 28-year-old winger Callum McManaman, who again missed out on the starting XI as he has struggled to make an impact since his move from Wigan Athletic in the summer.

The experienced winger has made 15 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals for his new club this season, but manager Graeme Jones seems to not fancy the winger so far after his average performances when pulling on the Luton shirt.

McManaman's career has nosedived slightly since the days when he was a promising winger when coming through at Wigan, which included winning the FA Cup against all the odds back in 2013.

The winger seems to have struggled to live up to the potential and the pressure that was put upon his shoulders, and with him now not even being able to make the Luton squad, he will surely be wondering where he went wrong during his career.

However, he will be ready to fight for his career at Kenilworth Road as he aims to get back into the squad and help the Hatters stave off relegation following their promotion from League One last season.

McManaman is a talented winger who is able to do the unthinkable sometimes when he is in possession, as he is always able to take a few players on and carve a chance out of nothing when his side desperately need a moment of magic.

The former Wigan Athletic prospect will need to get out on to the training pitch and impress his manager as well as prove that he can be better than the other players that are currently playing in his position.

Despite the scoreline being heavy, and McManaman being unable to change if even if he did play, he will still be disappointed at not being given a chance to show off his talents and try to make his way back into the squad.
