The Hatters activated a clause of £100,000 in the midfielders contract which allowed Drury to speak to Luton. Once talks took place, it was made clear that Drury wanted to return to Kenilworth road.

The 30 year old has signed a two year contract and becomes John Still’s fourth signing of the summer after the signings of defender Curtley Williams and strikers Ross Lafayette and Ricky Miller.

Still told the official website, “We’ve had to be patient to sign Andy but now we have secured his signature I’m absolutely thrilled.

“I’ve known Andy since he was at Ebbsfleet and last season, on the night we won the league, it was Andy who I was watching at Crawley. I’ve always been an admirer and when I was told there might be a chance of signing him I jumped at it.
“He’s a very experienced player and who has got that extra nous too. He’s played in the Championship and in League 1 in recent seasons and I know what he’s capable of.”
Drury played for Luton back in 2010, where he made 23 appearances and scored 6 goals before he moved to Championship side Ipswich for £150,000.
