Luton Town finished runners-up in League Two this season, five points behind title winners Accrington Stanley, to secure a spot in League One next season.

The Hatters impressively ended the campaign as League Two’s highest scorers by a long way, finding the net a huge 94 times.

Nathan Jones, who took charge of the Hatters back in January 2016, led Luton to League One for the first time in ten years, with Danny Hylton finishing their top goal scorer with 23 goals to his name.

The Luton Town manager has been linked with a number of jobs in higher divisions of late after his display this season, but is contracted for a few more years at Kenilworth Road yet.

Here are three deals that could see Luton Town spring a surprise in League One next season.

Erhun Oztumer ended his campaign at Walsall this season as top goal scorer, netting 16 times and contributing eight assists, as his side finished just two points off relegation.

The 26-year-old midfielder is thought to be looking for a new club when his contract expires in June this year, and would fit perfectly in an already strong Luton Town midfield set up.

Whether he would be willing to join a fellow League One side will be seen soon.

The 26-year-old defensive player has recently been released by his former side Mansfield Town, and is bound to have a number of offers. But, Luton Town should sign up the Englishman, who made 97 appearances for the League Two club over the two years he was at Field Mill.

The versatile player could provide defensive back up in either midfield or across the back line could be a real steal for the newly promoted Hatters.

The Coventry forward has scored 25 goals this season, and still has a chance to gain promotion to League One as they face Notts County in the second leg of their play-off semi-final later this week.

But, if Coventry miss out on the chance to be promoted this season, Luton should do whatever it takes to sign the 25-year-old Scotsman.

With a goal machine in Danny Hylton already at the club, the two could cause a real upset in League One next season.
