Luton's Ryan Tunnicliffe faces former club Millwall tomorrow night and his manager Graeme Jones has given him a word of warning ahead of the clash.

Having run out of his contract at The Den in the summer, Tunnicliffe joined the newly-promoted Luton Town and has since played every minute of the Hatters’ Championship campaign.

“He’s been a very good signing, I’m really happy with him,” said Jones ahead of the game against Millwall tomorrow via London News Online.

“He has had to change positions, he has had to show his game intelligence and understanding, which is far better than I ever give him credit for. So I really like where he is.”

Tunnicliffe, 26, was a graduate of the Manchester United academy, but has since been a Football League player with spells at several clubs including Fulham, Blackburn and Millwall previously.

When his contract at Millwall expired in the summer, Jones was keen to get him on board at Luton following their impressive 94-point haul in League One last season.

“There’s a message for Ryan," told Jones, "he doesn’t have to show any emotion in this game, he has to go about his business in the same way he has done for the previous games and he will be absolutely fine.”

Town, who sit 17th in the Championship, will be hoping they can defeat a Millwall side that's won just one of their last nine away matches and pull themselves towards the mid-table region.

The verdict

At 26-years-old Tunnicliffe already has a great wealth of experience at Championship-level. Walking out against your former club is a task for any footballer, and Tunnicliffe could be in for a cagey reception given the history between Luton and Millwall.

But it’s unlikely that Tunnicliffe will let his emotions falter his performance tomorrow night. With over 200 senior appearances to his name, his experience should see him overcome any emotions he may have tomorrow night.
