Queens Park Rangers winger Luke Freeman has insisted that the international break came at the perfect time for him and his teammates, the club reported on their official website.

After a troubling start to the season in which the R's lost their first four matches including a 7-1 drubbing by West Brom, they have turned a corner and are now unbeaten in two after a win and a draw.

“We all know we are far from the finished article and we’ve got work to do - that’s what we have been doing over the last week,” Freeman told the club website.

"We feel a lot better for it and we certainly feel we are going to Bolton this weekend in the right frame of mind.”

Freeman has played every minute of the season so far and has been one of the club's stand out players since arriving at Loftus Road in January 2017 from Bristol City.

He will no doubt be starting again on Saturday as Steve McClaren takes his side to high-flying Bolton Wanderers, although a 12 point deduction hangs over the Whites after entering administration.

The signings of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells during the loan window seem to have breathed new life into a seemingly doomed club.

McClaren reportedly used the time during the break to implement a new style of play that will get the best out of the pair.

The verdict

Things certainly seem to be looking up in West London.

QPR did well to gather some momentum back before the break and if they are able to implement a new system to get the best out of their players in that time then all the better.
