Dowling is currently at Leeds United and is working in consultancy and advisory capacity for the over a year.

The Yorkshire club are currently without a manager, with Brian McDermott leaving by mutual consent with the new owner Massimo Cellino.

Dowling was recruitment director at Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth before arriving at Elland Road in a slightly different role and is likely to stay in his role with the new management team and owners.
