In response, Chambers took to Instagram to insist that the midfielder is the ultimate professional and that he will be a success during his time to Lincoln City.

The verdict

It was a sad moment for Ipswich fans when Bishop’s exit from Portman Road was confirmed on Tuesday, but there is an acceptance that a departure for the midfielder at this stage was the correct move for all concerned with the deal. Cook obviously feels that he would not have been a key part of his side next term and therefore was right to allow him to move on elsewhere.

Lincoln is an excellent move for the midfielder and he should get the chance to become a key part of Michael Appleton’s side in League One next season. Bishop has always had talent but he needs to now start showing his best form consistently and having more of an impact on games for his side.

Chambers clearly enjoyed his time playing alongside Bishop at Ipswich and it shows that the midfielder was always dedicated to the cause despite injury issues and other things affecting his form at times. He is right that the midfielder has what it takes to make a real success of his latest move and he should prove to be a very good signing for the Imps.
