Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has stated that things have to change in the near future as the side has not been good enough.

The Whites were beaten once more on Saturday and have now won just once in their last eight fixtures.

Marcelo Bielsa's side has seen an 11 point lead ahead of third place been closed down to just four points and there are now serious concerns about Leeds' promotion credentials heading into a crucial few months.

Ayling has expressed that the players are frustrated but are determined to make things better having admitted that the side has not been good enough in recent weeks.

Speaking to Leeds' official website, Ayling said: "It’s a hard one to take, they’ve had one shot on target and one handball which led to a shot on target that went in, so it is frustrating.

"Things have got to change from the last few games because it hasn’t been good enough as we haven’t won a game."

The Verdict

Leeds really need to start improving and fast. It was another poor performance from the Whites and yet again highlights the need for a new forward in the attacking line.

If they want to earn automatic promotion this season then they have to step things up. The performances have seemingly been getting worse, and it looks as though the players are fearing that the same thing will happen this season as to what happened in the last one.

Ayling is often a key motivator amongst the side, and he needs players around him to step up and acknowledge that they haven't been good enough so that they can kick on and improve ahead of what will be a crucial run of games.
