Alan Nixon has taken to Twitter today to suggest that Jack Marriott may cost around £4m if anyone wants to sign him this summer from Peterborough United.

The Peterborough United is a highly-sought-after star after enjoying a superb campaign in 2017/18 at London Road.

He scored over 30 goals in all competitions for the Posh last year after adapting quickly following a move from Luton Town and it now looks as though another move could happen this summer.

Indeed, Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly among the clubs keen on the forward as they look to have a better season next year compared to the one just gone.

Certainly, adding more goals to the side might not be such a bad idea for Jos Luhukay but, the question is, can they afford to spend that kind of money on an unproven forward in the second tier?

That is what he will need to weigh-up.

The Verdict

Wednesday have got a lot of attacking options but there's a good chance that they'll be looking to shake things up in the final third.

Certainly, only Atdhe Nuhiu and Fernando Forestieri are really guaranteed a stay for next season and so Luhukay might decide to bring Marriott in.
