Jos Luhukay has been speaking to the press today ahead of Sheffield Wednesday's clash with Millwall tomorrow evening.

As has seemed the way with many of his meetings with the media, too, much of the discussion concerned the fitness of his players.

Indeed, though things aren't as bad as they were last season injury-wise right now, there is clearly a build-up of players still not yet fit.

During the presser, then, Dom Howson was tweeting what the manager had had to say and among the lack of updates for Kieran Lee, Gary Hooper and Almen Abdi, there was one on Sam Winnall:

The striker is back in training at last and fans will be pleased to see another attacking option is on the way back to fitness.

However, Luhukay's comments appear to suggest that actually being back up to full speed is still something that is a bit of a way off.

The Verdict

Winnall will be a welcome boost to the Owls' squad but in terms of him actually being ready to play it looks like fans will still have to play the waiting game.

Crucially, the club cannot afford to rush these players back in order to avoid a recurrence of knocks and so taking time with Winnall is a must.
