Sheffield Wednesday prepare to host Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon sitting 16th in the Championship table, meaning they should be safe from relegation despite a poor season.

They are eight points clear of the relegation zone and while Jos Luhukay's reign in charge has yet to ignite fully, this season should be all about building for next.

The visit of Villa is a good chance to take the scalp of another promotion chaser after the Owls saw off Derby earlier this month as Steve Bruce's side have not won in their past two games.

However, Luhukay is under no illusions about how tough the match will be against a Villans side who look set to be shorn of Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah yet again.

The Verdict

This will be a keenly contested match between two sides looking for a big result but I have to back Villa on this one.

Their need is greater as they seek to get back on track in the promotion race and I think it must only be a matter of time before they adjust to playing without key man Adomah and Grealish.

However, if Wednesday could win the match, it would be another sign that they are moving forward and could mount a challenge next season.
