Some observers might feel that Sheffield Wednesday missed their big opportunity to make it into the last eight of the FA Cup by failing to beat Premier League club Swansea City at the first attempt, at home.

That 0-0 draw at Hillsborough, preserved largely through Cameron Dawson's heroics, means that the Owls travel to the Liberty Stadium tonight with designs on setting up a home quarter final clash.

Tonight's match has to be settled on the night and the side that emerges victorious will face the winner of tomorrow night's replay between Tottenham and Rochdale at Wembley.

Wednesday are now the underdogs to progress but Owls boss Jos Luhukay has embraced that tag and is still confident that his side can emerge with a result.

He told the Yorkshire Post: "We, as a Championship club, go to their ground and they are the favourites. We must try from the underdog position to play a good game and to get into the next round.

"I think the team has very good character to put in a good performance. I am not afraid that we will not put in a good game. We want to win, but so do Swansea.

"We do not play at home where our fans give us support and more energy and motivation. The motivation must come from inside. We must have a lot of passion to get to the next round."

The Verdict

The fixture schedule might be beginning to take its toll on an injury-hit Wednesday squad but this one is a massive opportunity.

Reaching the last eight of the FA Cup could give the club a huge boost after a poor season.

Swansea got a thrashing at the weekend and if confidence is low, that will only serve to boost Wednesday's chances of securing a shock place in the quarters.
