Leeds United are on course to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this season under Marcelo Bielsa.
A number of Bielsa’s squad would make themselves Elland Road legends if they were to win promotion, and they would join a familiar face in earning that status.
Luciano Becchio is one of the great strikers to grace the Elland Road turf, and he took to Instagram to reminisce at his time at the club.
Becchio made 221 appearances, and scored 86 goals in total for the Whites across a five-year-spell with the Yorkshire-based club.
The Argentine was part of the Leeds squad that won promotion back to the Championship in the 2009/2010 season and he was a firm fans favourite in his time with the club.
Becchio is now an assistant manager for Spanish side, CD Atletico Baleares, which is a role in which he has held since January 2018.
He will surely be hoping his former side can win promotion back into the top flight this season, and it’s looking like they could do that as the season heads towards a conclusion.
What a player he was for Leeds!
Becchio was their main outlet for goals and enjoyed some excellent seasons with the Whites and is certainly one of the legends of Elland Road.
He would have fitted perfectly into this Leeds side that are challenging for promotion this season.
