Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Toyosi Olusanya on a two-year contract.
— Middlesbrough FC (@Boro) August 20, 2021
The 23-year-old, who featured for AFC Wimbledon as a youngster, has spent the past few years in non-league football, most recently with Billericay Town.
His form at that level caught the eye, with a host of professional clubs linked with a move for the attacker in recent weeks. But, it’s Boro who have won the race for Olusanya, with the club announcing his arrival this morning.
Whilst the player is sure to need time to get up to speed at a much higher level, he is someone who has real potential and will hope to make a mark for Neil Warnock’s side as they push for promotion this season.
Are these 10 facts about Middlesbrough actually true?
Considering he is a low-risk move in terms of finances, many fans see this as a smart bit of business by the Teesside outfit and they hope to have discovered the latest star to emerge from non-league.
Here we look at some of the reaction to the news from Twitter…
Loving these sort of signings.
There must be so many gems at lower league level that go under the radar and never get a chance. Let's hope this lad takes his opportunity, he only has to look at the likes of Isiah Jones and Lewis Wing to know he'll get a shot. #Boro #UTB https://t.co/xqG3Q7YbCC

In all honesty im glad to see us searching this market and trying to find the next star. Don’t always have to look far for talent, Isiah Jones is showing that. A nice mix of experience, pace and skill is what we need. Haven’t quite got that yet
