Blackburn Rovers have completed the permanent signing of left back Harry Pickering from Crewe Alexandra, the Championship club have announced.

A graduate of Crewe’s academy, Pickering has made 148 appearances in all competitions for the club, helping them win promotion from League Two the last season.

The 22-year-old’s performances for the Railwaymen have earned him rave reviews recently, and Rovers have now officially won the race for his signature.

It has been confirmed that Pickering has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal with the Lancashire club, securing his future at Ewood Park until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Pickering is now set to return to Crewe on loan for the remainder of the season, as he looks to help them win promotion from League One, with the club currently tenth in the table, three points adrift of the play-off places.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of Pickering’s arrival, a number of Blackburn fans were keen to give their thoughts on the club’s latest recruit.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
