Reading have announced that defender Michael Morrison has signed a new deal with the club, that will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until the summer of 2022.
Morrison’s current deal with the Berkshire-based side have been set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 season, but the club have agreed a new contract with the 33-year-old.
He has been with the club since 2019, having previously been on the books with Birmingham City, and Morrison has certainly made a good impression with the Royals.
The defender made 36 appearances in all competitions for Veljko Paunovic’s side, although he missed some important matches through injury this term, which proved costly as they missed out on a place in the top-six in the Championship.
Did these 18 players make more than 100 appearances for Reading or not?
Plenty of Reading supporters took to social media to react to the news of Morrison’s new deal, and it’s safe to say that the majority were delighted to see him extend his stay with the club.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….

That’s a fair few talented players being released though 🙁 Onen and McGiff especially.
I’m happy that Nevers and Azeez have been offered contracts thats class.
