Birmingham City have had their fair share of academy prospects that have progressed into the first-team, before moving on from St Andrew's.

One of those is Jude Bellingham, with the midfielder departing Birmingham City in the summer of 2020, as he moved to German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham made 44 appearances for Birmingham City's first-team, but has since gone on to establish himself as a regular in the Borussia Dortmund this season.

The midfielder has made 40 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, which includes featuring for them in their Champions League campaign, which recently came to an end at the hands of Manchester City.

Birmingham City have recently issued supporters with an insight into the club's academy system, with player's recently returning to training.

Bellingham was quick to react to the social post, and his four-word verdict on the news is certain to go down well with the club's supporters.

Birmingham City are sat 19th in the Championship table, and will be hoping they can finish this year's campaign strongly, after an improved run of results since Lee Bowyer took charge of the club.

The Blues are set to return to action on Wednesday evening, when they host Nottingham Forest, in what is likely to be a closely-fought battle between the two teams.

The Verdict:

It's great to see Bellingham still keep a close eye on his former club.

He's been brilliant for Borussia Dortmund this season, and it really wouldn't surprise me

Birmingham City have had their fair share of players over the years that have gone on to bigger and better clubs, but Bellingham has the potential to be one of the best to come out of the club's academy setup if he can continue to build on a hugely impressive start to life with Borussia Dortmund.

Birmingham will be hoping they can find another hidden gem within their academy in the near future.
