Portsmouth have announced their latest signing of the transfer window, with Cameron McGeehan joining the Blues on a loan deal until the end of the season from Barnsley.

The 24-year-old makes the switch from south Yorkshire to the south coast after falling out of favour under Gerhard Struber. He made his last appearance for the Tykes at the start of December against QPR at Oakwell and has not featured since.

However, the central midfielder was also part of Barnsley's promotion winning side to the Championship last season in League One, impressing with six goals from 44 appearances.

The midfielder is Pompey's third signing of the January window, joining Steve Seddon and Reeco Hackett-Fairchild at Fratton Park.
