It has been an excellent start to the week for Reading FC, with the mood at the Madejski Stadium significantly improving over the last 24 hours, following a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
That victory has lifted some of the mounting pressure on Jaap Stam, and Reading’s supporters have been given a further boost this afternoon, with confirmation that Yann Kermorgant has signed a one-year contract extension with the Royals, despite last year announcing his plans to retire.

Kermorgant has signed a deal that will run until the summer of 2019, with his contract extension coinciding with the striker’s return to fitness. The 35-year-old missed the opening months of the season through injury, with Reading struggling to rediscover their best form without the Frenchman, who scored 19 goals last season for Stam’s side.
The striker featured from the bench on Saturday against Middlesbrough, before once again featuring last night against Forest as a sub.
Following Reading’s announcement on Kermorgant’s future, here is how the club’s supporters reacted…
