Hull City have had a disappointing week following Nigel Adkins' decision to not to renew his contract, but many Tigers fans are beginning to feel excited about the new season after the club released its new kit.

This year the club have gone with a style more suited to their nickname of The Tigers, with tiger-like stripes across the top, which is a throwback to their kit from 1992-1994.

It has gone down well with Hull fans too, which is becoming a rarity as new kits often split fan opinion.

However, the club will need to do more than release a new kit if they are going to make the fans optimistic ahead of the new season.

Pre-season is just a couple of weeks away but Hull have no manager and no plans in place ahead of the new season.

It could be a busy summer in and out of Hull in the next few weeks, and they will need some urgency if they are to hit the ground running in August.

Here is some of the fan reaction to the kit launch on Twitter.
