Sheffield Wednesday's poor run of form continued on Wednesday evening as they were beaten 1-0 by relegation-threatened Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

James Collins missed an early penalty for the Hatters, but scored the winner later on, as Luton pulled themselves off the bottom of the Championship table.

Sheffield Wednesday are sat 12th in the second-tier standings, and will know that results simply have to improve if they're to even stand a chance of finishing inside the top-six.

Garry Monk's side have now lost six of their last nine matches, which had led to increasing pressure on the Sheffield Wednesday boss heading into their game against Reading this weekend.

The Owls boss made the somewhat bizarre decision to start Fernando Forestieri at left wing back for the game against Luton, and although he put in a strong performance there, Forestieri was substituted at half-time.

Plenty of the Sheffield Wednesday supporters certainly weren't pleased by this bold selection call by Monk.
