Nottingham Forest are close to completing the signing of Fulham full-back Cyrus Christie, according to BBC Radio Nottingham.

Forest lost first-choice right-back Matty Cash to Aston Villa for £16million a fortnight ago, with Sabri Lamouchi now close to bringing in a replacement.

Jordan Gabriel started against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup and against QPR on the opening day of the Championship campaign, with Tendayi Darikwa and Carl Jenkinson also vying for a place in the side.

According to BBC Radio Nottingham, though, Forest are now close to completing the signing of Fulham’s Cyrus Christie, with a deal likely to be completed before the weekend.

Christie made 30 appearances for Fulham last season, as Scott Parker’s side won promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.

Christie came through the ranks at Coventry City before spending time at Derby County and Middlesbrough, racking up well over 300 appearances in his career.

The 27-year-old only has one year left on his contract at Craven Cottage, though, with Fulham seemingly looking to cash-in this summer, rather than potentially lose him for free next year.
