‘Lost for words’, ‘Fair play’ – Many Sunderland fans react to recent transfer news

Many Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that their former player, Remi Matthews, has joined Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old shot stopper has signed a two year contract with the Premier League side after being released by the Black Cats this summer and will be looking to provide competition for the likes of Vicente Guaita and Jack Butland at Selhurst Park moving forwards.

Matthews originally signed for the Black Cats in the summer of last year from Bolton Wanderers and went on to make just 11 first team appearances before leaving the North East side as part of Lee Johnson’s summer clear-out.

Naturally the news of Matthew moving to Palace didn’t take long to reach the Sunderland faithful, with many taking to social media to air their views on the announcement earlier today.
