Bristol City have now managed to win just one of their last seven matches following a disappointing 1-1 draw with League One side Shrewsbury in their FA Cup third-round tie.

Famara Diedhiou had given the Robins the lead after 30 minutes when he directed home Niclas Eliasson's cross, but Shrewsbury then levelled the scores courtesy of Sean Goss' precise effort, and they then managed to hold out for the replay.

Lee Johnson's side entered the Ashton Gate clash in a run of poor league form following a 4-0 defeat to Brentford on New Year's Day, and the Robins failed to re-build their confidence against their third-tier opponents.

The two sides will now meet in a replay match at Shrewsbury in order to decide who progresses to the fourth round, and this may now prove to be a distraction for Johnson as he strives to get his side's league form back on track.

Bristol City took to Twitter to share news of the result:

Plenty of Bristol City fans have reacted to this by claiming the result was not good enough claiming they had fielded a full-strength side, while some supporters even claimed that Johnson should be sacked following the result.
